The Bay Area community came together with extraordinary generosity. Now we need your help to get these donated supplies to the families in Venezuela who need them most.
Your donation helps cover the shipping and logistics needed to send more than 1,500 boxes of food, hygiene items, clothing, first-aid supplies, and essentials to Venezuela.
Donate today and help us move these boxes from Oakland to Venezuela. 🇻🇪
Families arrived throughout the day carrying boxes, bags, and supplies. Volunteers helped organize donations, move boxes, sort essentials, and welcome people who came ready to help. There was a feeling of urgency, but also of unity, everyone doing something, big or small, for Venezuela.
Angelitos Insurance and Arepas Inc. originally expected to collect around 500 boxes of donated goods. But by the end of the day, the response had more than doubled: more than 1,500 boxes were collected for families affected by the earthquake.
So many people came with open hearts, and the result was greater than anyone expected. Now comes the next step: shipping these donations to Venezuela.
Because the collection was so successful, the cost of transportation and logistics is much higher than originally planned. Dulce Tricolor Venezolano is supporting Angelitos Insurance and Arepas Inc. by helping raise funds to cover those shipping costs.
Telemundo covered the Oakland collection drive that filled more than 1,500 boxes, the same boxes this campaign is shipping to Venezuela. "We think we have more than 2,000 boxes," said Johanna Torres, co-founder of Unidos por Venezuela, in the Telemundo report.
